Overview: Good Governance General Course

The focus of this course is the contribution of non-governmental organisations and national human rights institutions in monitoring and implementing the principles of good governance.

The following topics are dealt with:

  • The establishment of NHRIs and NGOs and their institutionalised structure
  • Projects and the principles of project management
  • Funding and financial management
  • Management of scarce resources
  • Utilisation of human resources
  • Documentation and information management
  • Imaging and public relations
  • Institutional evaluation

Applications for any of the courses presented by the Good Governance Programme (GGP) can be made either by e-mail, by post or by fax. Click on the link below to download the application form - it contains all the relevant information.

Applications should include:
- Curriculum Vitae
- Two letters of recommendation
- Covering letter stating why you would like to participate in this course.
- Application for scholarship (if applicable).

Closing date for applications:
Applications should be submitted at least one month prior to the starting date of the course. Admission will be on a competitive basis and the admission criteria will include working experience, academic qualifications, and the levels of commitment and professionalism displayed through past experience. In respect of South African candidates special consideration will be given to the advancement of potential applicants from previously disadvantaged groups.

Scholarship form: Good Governance General Course

A limited number of scholarships are available for this course.

Please Note:
Scholarships do not include airfare and participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements and the cost thereof. Also indicate in your application for scholarship whether you would still like to be considered for admittance in the event that you are not granted a scholarship. Please note that scholarships are generally not available and are largely dependent on funding received.
